OUR APPROACH TO CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT

At Ursa Spine and Sport, our chiropractic treatments are tailored to meet each patient’s unique goals—whether it’s reducing pain, increasing mobility, enhancing overall health and performance, or addressing specific concerns. We’re here to help you achieve your best possible outcome.

Each treatment session includes a thorough assessment of range of motion and palpation of muscle tone and joint mobility. Based on the findings, we use a combination of soft tissue techniques, stretching, joint mobilizations, and chiropractic adjustments to address areas of concern. To complete the session, we incorporate mobility and strengthening exercises, which are provided for you to continue working on your health goals outside the clinic.

We take a holistic, full-body approach to treatment. While we focus on your primary area(s) of concern, we also perform an overall check to ensure you leave feeling your best.

PATIENT EDUCATION

At Ursa Spine and Sport, empowering patients with the tools to continue improving on their own is a key aspect of our approach. We focus on not only explaining the goals and strategies behind our treatment plans, but also on providing actionable steps for patients to progress independently. This may include stretches, exercises, and encouraging them to confidently return to or continue activities.

By doing so, we help patients take a more active role in their recovery outside the clinic, creating longer intervals between visits. Our goal is not to foster a reliance on treatment, but rather to ensure that, when needed, you can trust us to be here to support you on your journey to optimal health.

CONDITIONS WE TREAT

Low Back Pain/Sciatica

one of the most common areas of pain and injury we treat is the lower back. Often, these issues arise from a combination of joint stiffness in the hips and low back, along with built-up tension in these areas. These factors can contribute to nerve compression, such as sciatica. If you’re experiencing persistent low back pain that hasn’t improved over a few days, severe discomfort, or sciatica, allow us to help.

shoulder pain

The shoulder is another common area of pain and the third most frequent concern we treat. Often, poor posture over time can lead to restricted movement and discomfort in the shoulder. Additionally, shoulder injuries are some of the most prevalent sports-related injuries. Whether you’ve experienced a recent injury or have been dealing with shoulder pain for months or even years, we’re here to help you regain mobility and reduce discomfort.

neck pain and headaches/migraines

The neck is the second most common area of pain and injury that chiropractors treat. Even simple tasks, like turning your head to do a shoulder check while driving, can become difficult. Tension in the neck and upper back can also lead to headaches and migraines. If you’re experiencing general neck pain, limited range of motion, or headaches, we’re here to help.

Concerned or unsure about neck adjustments? We’re happy to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. If you’re uncomfortable with neck adjustments, rest assured—we can work with you to find an alternative approach to your care.

Repetitive strain injuries

Many of us work in fields that require repetitive tasks, whether lifting light or heavy loads. Despite our best efforts to maintain good posture, form, and positioning, our bodies still experience strain from the repetitive nature of these movements. Over time, this strain can lead to muscle and tendon injuries, causing pain and affecting our ability to perform daily tasks. Common areas of discomfort include the lower back, shoulders, forearms, elbows, wrists, and hands. Conditions such as sacroiliac joint strain, rotator cuff injuries, and tendinopathies in the elbows, wrists, and hands are often the result. If you’re experiencing any of these issues, we’re here to help.

sports injuries

Sports injuries can be either acute or chronic, resulting from a variety of factors including direct impact, muscle tension, imbalances, or inhibition, joint instability or hyper-mobility, and overtraining or overloading. Chiropractic care can not only aid in recovery after an injury but also help reduce the risk of future injuries and enhance your athletic performance. Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a competitive athlete, we’re here to help you manage injuries and improve your performance.

Running injuries

Running injuries are common and often affect areas of the lower body, including the foot, calf, hip, IT band, and Achilles tendon. If you’re experiencing pain during or after your runs, or have stopped running due to chronic issues in any of these areas, we’re here to help you get back on track and keep running pain-free.

dance/gymnastics injuries

Dance and gymnastics place significant physical demands on the body, with long hours of training, repetitive movements, and high-impact routines. These factors can lead to injuries in the spine, upper body, or lower body. If you’re experiencing pain or discomfort from competitive dance or gymnastics, we’re here to help you recover and get back to performing at your best.

Motor vehicle accidents

Motor vehicle accidents, regardless of the speed at which they occur, can impact our muscles and joints, leading to pain, headaches, fatigue, stiffness, and soreness. If you’re experiencing any muscle or joint symptoms after a car accident, we’re here to help you recover and find relief.

Slip and fall injuries

Slip and fall injuries can occur unexpectedly, and even trying to prevent a fall can lead to injury. If you’ve been hurt in a slip and fall, we’re here to help you recover and get back on your feet.
