OUR APPROACH TO CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT

chiropractic treatment at ursa spine and sport focuses on achieving each individual patient’s goals. whether it be  to decrease pain, increase mobility, improve overall health and performance, or something else we are here to help.

Each of our chiropractic treatment visits will include assessing of range of motion, and palpation of muscle tone and joint mobility. From the assessment and palpation findings, we will treat the areas of findings using soft tissue techniques, stretching, joint mobilizations and chiropractic adjustments. We will then utilize mobility and strengthening exercises to finish our treatment session and send these exercises with you, along with some other helpful pieces to allow you to continue to achieve your health goals when not in the clinic.

We take a full body approach to treatment, meaning that We focus on your main area(s) of concern, but also do an overall check each visit to try to be sure you are feeling your best when leaving treatment.

PATIENT EDUCATION

Providing patients with the tools to continue improve on their own, is a major component of what we aim to do. This can include creating an understanding of what we are doing and the goals for our treatment plan, but also what patients can do themselves to help progress further with things such as stretches, exercises, and encouragement to not be scared to return to activity or to continue doing an activity. This in turn allows patients to have more of an active role when not in for treatment and helps to create more space between visits. Our objective is not to create a reliance on treatment, but help you understand that when treatment is needed you can rely us to be there to help.

CONDITIONS WE TREAT

Low Back Pain/Sciatica

One of the most common areas of pain and injury that we treat as chiropractors. Many times, these injuries stem from a mixture of joint stiffness in the hips and low back as well as tension buildup in these areas. These factors can also lead to compression of nerves like the Sciatic nerve. If you are experiencing any pain in your low back that hasn’t gotten any better over a span of a few days, severe pain, or sciatica, let us help.

neck pain and headaches/migraines

Afraid or have concerns about neck adjustments? Let us know, we would be happy to discuss through any questions or concerns you have. If you are uncomfortable with getting adjusted in the neck area, we do not have to adjust your neck.

Repetitive strain injuries

Many of us work in fields that require us to do certain tasks multiple times a day, whether that be with light or heavy loads. Even though we make conscious efforts to focus on posture, form, and or positioning there still is a level of strain that is placed on our bodies. With increased repetition of certain motions strains to the muscles and tendons can occur and cause pain and affect your ability to do these tasks. These pains can occur in the low back, shoulders, forearms, elbows, wrists, and hands to name a few common areas. These can lead to conditions such as sacroiliac joint strains, rotator cuff injuries, and tendinopathies of the elbows, wrists and hands. If you are experiencing any of these, we are here to help.
